Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is Virginia's most thrilling theme park located in the heart of Williamsburg's Historic Triangle. This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Busch Gardens' heart-stopping rides and attractions that are set to an authentic European theme. This unique backdrop and breathtaking landscaping have earned the park the award of America's Most Beautiful Theme Park for more than 20 consecutive years.

At Busch Gardens Williamsburg there is fun for the entire family with more than 30 thrilling attractions, Broadway-style shows, mouth-watering cuisine, and of course those beautiful animals that Busch Gardens has always been known for. In addition, there are now several events throughout the year to make your visit even more special. See the upcoming events below!

Busch Gardens Kid-Siderate Attractions

If you are traveling with little ones look for the "kid-siderate" designation to let you know those areas especially designed for kids, including Sesame Street Forest of Fun and Land of the Dragons. Kids can spend hours on mini-rides and coasters—like Grover's Alpine Express and Elmo's Spire—or splashing in water fountains and climbing through tree houses. Busch Gardens Rides

State of the art technology makes the park's coasters some of the most exciting around. Daredevils beware, Tempesto , the park's newest thrill ride, opened in April 2015 and thrills riders with a "loop the loop" that defies gravity just like the Italian stunt for which it was named. Be sure to try Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot both of which have been named among the top ten steel coasters in the world, or tame the Loch Ness Monster with interlocking loops and a blackout tunnel that have made it a park favorite for years.

The mighty Griffon can be found in the New France area of Busch Gardens. With speeds over 75mph, Griffon lifts riders more than 205 feet in the air and simply hangs for several seconds before taking the 90 degree drop that sends you soaring.

For those looking for a milder or first coaster experience try Verbolten. This family rollercoaster starts at a themed German Tourist Center where a tour of the Black Forest and Rhine River turn into an out of control ride featuring drops of more than 80 feet over the river.

While the rides at Busch Gardens are exciting, there are plenty of other attractions to keep non-riders busy. Step aboard Busch Gardens Railway for a journey throughout the stunning European landscape with stops in England, Italy and France, over the Rhine River and past Busch Gardens Animal preserves. Or enjoy the view from above as the Sky Ride takes a similar track with breathtaking views from above the park.
